Sixteen-year-old Rinnie Noelle is called into action again as the crime rate suddenly accelerates in Greensburg. Nicolaitan, the man who murdered Rinnie’s parents, makes it clear that he wants Rinnie, and will go on a murder spree until she gives herself up. Rinnie’s friends and teachers disappear in a bizarre game of riddles where fresh cemetery plots and poetic clues point to the next victim. Her rescue missions expose Rinnie to the horrors of the mysterious LaReau Mansion, and the secrets of the haunted Livermore Burial Grounds.
Between keeping the Dweeb League from getting themselves killed, dealing with a new Psi Fighter who gives her attitude, and trying to figure out who Nicolaitan’s next victim is before it’s too late, Rinnie learns that the stakes are higher than she is ready to deal with. Nicolaitan has declared war. He is using a mind-control drug to manipulate high school students, using them as puppets to carry out his crimes, and he doesn’t care who becomes collateral damage in the process.
In a climactic showdown, the Psi Fighters are badly outnumbered by Walpurgis Knights when they face off for the first time in a decade. Even if the Knights lose, someone Rinnie loves may die in battle. But if the Knights win, Rinnie will be shot full of the mind control drug Psychedone 10, and forced to become Nicolaitan’s slave.Read Chapter 1
When she was six, her family was murdered and the Psi Fighters put her into hiding. All traces of her existence evaporated. She got a new identity and a new family. Then she went into the most accelerated training program any Psi Fighter had ever been exposed to. Now she goes to your school.
Kathryn is Rinnie’s best friend in the entire universe. They know everything about each other. Rinnie knows Kathryn’s secret shopping hot spots. Kathryn knows Rinnie’s secret identity. Kathryn is the coolest, most popular girl in school, but she doesn't know it. She is completely genuine, totally unaware of her popularity. She’s as unsnobbish as it’s possible to be. On the other hand, she has little patience with lower life forms like Mason Draudimon and Art Rubric.
Bobby is a brain, and Mason admires him for it. But he’s a little geeky, which also makes him a favorite target of Mason and his goons. Oh, and Kathryn adores him, but he's too dense to realize it.
Rinnie's mentor and dear friend, Andy is Rinnie's favorite sparring partner at the secret underground Psi Fighter Academy. He is also the technical wizard behind all Psi Fighter gadgetry. Most of his inventions are useful. He made a mind-powered underground transport, a memory scanner, and the Amplifier, chosen weapon of the Psi Fighter. He also invented an annoying little iPod-like gadget that projects a hologram of him in a Princess Leia wig talking to an R2D2 garbage can.
Mason is totally cute but thoroughly nasty. Rumor has it that he is emotionally scarred by his abusive mother, so he takes his anger out on anyone who gets in his way. Sometimes Rinnie feels sorry for him. Most of the time, she wishes a random house would drop on his head. He has picked on her since forever, and here’s the thing—she could dust the lockers with his face, but then, there’s her secret identity to worry about. So she just takes it. It gets annoying.
Egon is the coolest boy in the school, and a mixed martial arts expert. Nobody, not even Mason or Art, will mess with him. Rinnie has a tremendous crush on him, and she sometimes sees glimmers of him crushing back... but she’s not sure. He has become her unofficial bodyguard against Mason and his morons. Which she totally appreciates.
Art has taken the word “nasty” to a whole new level. His personal mission is to make sure the halls of Rinnie’s school are safe — from him. He charges the students a toll to pass, and anyone able to pay can roam in total safety. For those who have no money, well, Art has come up with a way to make them pay, too. Oh, and one more thing about Art—he is a heavy Psychedone 10 user.
Tammy is the school's beautiful, well-endowed, and totally evil head cheerleader. She is the undisputed leader of the Red Team, a group of nasties who bully relentlessly because they enjoy it. She is also founding member of the Star Ship Angel, a shady business she operates out of a back room in the Shadow Passage.
At the center of the Psi Fighter Academy is a secure conference room that requires Psi Mental Energy to access. Once inside, Psi Fighters can share intelligence about Nicolaitan and the Walpurgis Knights and develop strategies for future missions.Tour the Academy
The Mental Arts are used by Psi Fighters to create weapons from their thoughts and emotions. Each Psi Weapon is unique. Some disrupt the opponent’s perception. Others affect their memory or distort their reasoning. All tug at emotion in one form or another.
Heart Piercing Dagger
The Heart Piercing Dagger causes the opponent to believe he has done something terrible to a person he cares deeply about, leaving him terrified and wallowing in a puddle of his own tears.See All
Rinnie Noelle kicked butt is the first book, Psi Another Day, but in Live and Let Psi, she brings the kick butt to a whole new level.
...interesting twists and turns as well as a holy crap ending.
Right off the bat, there is a classic Rinnie and Andy moment to help you fall in love with the characters all over again.
Live and Let Psi is a fantastic adrenaline rush. I really like this series. Rinnie is clever and she knows how to get out of difficult situations. She's fierce and loyal and I loved that about her.
