Psi Another Day is an absolutely wonderful book–full of charm, creativity, morality, and uniqueness.
I loved every moment reading Mr. Rosensteel’s book. His allusions and metaphors are especially delightful to those of us who live in the Greensburg area. Clearly, the author has learned the art of writing well—fluent style, great characterization (Rinnie and Kathryn), and appropriate voice for all audience levels. I liked the mysterious Mrs. Simmons character in the book—although all the characters are a lot
of fun. Our entire family anxiously awaits the sequel.
*****Recommended for all audience levels–especially middle school.

What’s not to like about a teenage girl out to avenge her parents’ murder and reclaim safety and order for her bullied classmates while using psionic superpowers she hasn’t quite mastered? Her dialogue and self-talk had me chuckling throughout. Rinnie’s youthful enthusiasm continually complicates the plot, which is full of surprising twists and turns as she battles bullies and evades evildoers with zany style that kept me flipping pages while I laughed. Her escapades in ducts and secret tunnels made me yearn for another chance to break the rules in my high school way back when. Who knows what I might have discovered?
Rosensteel has produced a gripping and humorous masterpiece with language that should challenge readers of any age to more innovative expression, and he does this without a single foul phrase or steamy scene. Bravo for proving that’s possible. I’d never heard of psionic powers, so enjoyed the introduction.
I was excited to discover that the gratifying ending left one loose end that leads right into the next adventure. I hope we don’t have long to wait! I’m signing on for the series.

This first time author writes with a developed and unique style that had me laughing out loud then flipping pages in suspense all within seconds of one another. It’s great to be able to escape into a world where the hero is clearly the “good guy”(girl). I thoroughly enjoyed the depth given to the characters, and Rinnie’s sarcasm even in the middle of a crisis is a riot. Skillfully mixed into the fun and mysterious storyline, is a positive anti-drug and anti-bullying message. I look forward to the next book in the Psi Fighter series.

Finally, a YA novel without dystopian angst or anyone getting killed. At least, not that I remember. Rinnie is a Psi Fighter, which means she fights with her mind but also has a mean roundhouse kick. By day, she’s an ordinary school girl with all the usual teen problems—boys, clothes, fitting in, etc. But when it comes to unmasking the dastardly plot of a deadly ring of super-villians that have infiltrated the school, she’s got mad skills. With a little help from Andy, her super-genius partner (think Q) at the Psi Fighter Academy, and her charming, hilarious and “oddly shaped” friends, The Dweeb league, she must identify and dispatch her arch nemesis before he (or she) figure out who she is.
While the Psi Fighter concept is truly ingenius, and D.R. Rosensteel’s creation of a credible female voice is spot on, the secret sauce of this novel is its humor—I laughed on every page. It’s one of the funniest books I’ve read in eons. I wanted to cut and paste a few memorable lines here, but there were so many I just couldn’t decide. I admit I kind of guessed the ending, and I didn’t always follow the backstory of the plot, but still it was a fun ride, with plenty of twists to keep you reading past your bedtime.
I’m looking forward to the second book in the series, Live and Let Psi. The author knows a great pun when he sees one! Check out Andy’s Lab on the author’s website, it’s really cool.

“Ionic Attraction is a cute, probably-safe-for-preteens-too (just some kissing, mild danger for our protagonists without graphic details) YA thriller!”

I enjoy good kids books (for all ages) and I was certainly not disappointed in this. I started to read it 10 minutes before leaving work, and the next thing I knew, it was a half hour later. I finished it that night, and am waiting for the next one.
I also bought a copy for my 13 year old great grandson. (He’s not getting mine!)

“Rinnie’s spent the past TEN years pushing through intensive training in an attempt to be the best she can possibly be. But, Nicolaitan hasn’t forgotten about her or his plans for her. Interesting ending.”

“Live and Let Psi is an AMAZING addition to the Psi Fighter Academy series! Rinnie Noelle kicked butt in the first book, Psi Another Day, but in Live and Let Psi, she brings the kick butt to a whole new level.”

I LOVE THIS BOOK! Such a fun way to show kids that everyone has a superhero in them, and that there is more to the profession than just kicking butt. I love the characters, especially Rinnie Noelle. She is a girl with a questionable fashion sense, but Batman’s battle prowess. A role model for this generation, she is a mixture of innocence, shyness, and butt-kicking kung fu. Rinnie makes it cool to be a do-gooder. She’s a jedi with Cinderella’s heart, the girl who always befriends the underdog. Her secret identity and fierce fighting skills allow her to take on uber-villains who terrorize her city, but can’t help her or her group of politically imperfect friends (The Dweeb League? Who can come up with this stuff?) defend themselves against the nasty girls who call themselves the Red Team, or their henchman, Art Rubric. I definitely recommend this for kids of all ages!
